State-run NTPC on Friday said it has introduced India’s biggest floating solar based photovoltaic (PV) plant at Rajiv Gandhi Combined Cycle Power Plant (RGCCPP) at Kayamkulam in Kerala.
“A 100 kWp (kilowatt peak) floating solar based PV plant, the biggest of its kind in India as on date, indigenously created as a piece of ‘Make In India’ activity, was introduced by A K Jha, Director (Technical) NTPC in nearness of V B Fadnavis, RED (SR), R K Srivastava, ED (NETRA) and other senior authorities of NTPC and different offices, at RGCCPP Kayamkulam, Kerala,” the organization said in a press release today.
This floating platform has been indigenously created by NETRA (NTPC Energy Technology Research Alliance), the R&D arm of NTPC, as a team with Central Institute of Plastic Engineering and Technology (CIPET), Chennai and patent has been proposed, as per the announcement.
The framework was introduced by Swelect Energy Systems Ltd, Chennai with support from NETRA and NTPC Kayamkulam station in a limited ability to focus 22 days.
