YouTube is one of the largest and biggest entertainment websites online currently in India and we like to watch the videos and stream the music through it. So, as Google saw the urging Indian YouTube community it has released the YouTube Music, YouTube Music Premium and YouTube Premium in India. The services join Google Play Music and Google Play Movies.
According to Nielsen report from 2018 YouTube is the country’s top source for streaming service and Indian music label T-Series just surpassed YouTube star PewDiePie as the most subscribed channel on the entire platform for the third time, before dropping back to second place. The T-Series is the most watched YouTube channel globally, and it has an astonishing figure of 60 billion views globally.
“With YouTube Music, we are hoping to bring the best in global and Indian music to millions of fans across India, and give them an immersive music experience,” said Lyor Cohen, Global Head of Music, YouTube.
“Samsung Galaxy S10 users can enjoy four months of free, ad-free access to YouTube Premium,” said the company.
The new services is launched inorder to give stiff competition from other streaming services like Amazon Music, Apple Music, JioSaavn, Gaana, and Spotify, which entered the Indian market just couple months back.
The standard version of YouTube Music will be free of cost and YouTube Music Premium will cost you around Rs 99 per month and YouTube Premium would cost around Rs 129 per month. These are one of the cheapest rates globally. If you buy YouTube premium you would get features like the ability to play videos in the background while running other apps, offline downloads, access to YouTube Originals, and YouTube Music Premium bundled in.
